Technology Update for the 21st Century

Most of you know that I'm not the most technologically advanced person, especially with cell phones. I managed to abstain from texting until just last October and have continually ignored taunts from my peers regarding the appearance of my cell phone. As long as it works, cell phone aesthetics are not at the top of my priority list.

After caving to such pressure last fall, and having gone through two Moto Q's, I am alerting you all that I officially am going without a (US) cell phone. After the loss of my second Q, my brother was allowed to pick out the replacement as he would be inheriting it in a mere 5 months. Today we are doing the switch. The number will be changed and contacts cleared so he won't be able to harass any of you with his teenager antics.

I will be getting a cell phone in New Zealand, however it's mainly for local use and emergencies. The best ways to chat with me are with Gchat (IM and Video) and Skype. Skype is free and allows IM and video chat just like Google. The time difference between here and NZ is major so use the meeting planner on this site to see when I might be available. It may be easiest to plan a Skype date with me in advance just send me a message or email.

So start downloading Skype/updating your Gchat options to include video (FYI, on bottom of your contacts box!) like, right now so we can stay in touch!
