Well the Naughties are officially finished & 2010 well over a week old...It is hard to believe that 10 years have passed! NYE in '99 I was having a very teenage sleepover, complete with sparkling Jello in Champagne flutes, lol. I love reflecting on the year gone by and am very satisfied with how 2009 was spent. I was especially excited for 2010 to arrive because I just feel that so much is going to be happening this year! I haven't been very comfortable with change or the unknown, but since embracing it full on (hellloooo NZ!), I find it to be exhilarating. I still love planning, and get rather antsy without plans A, B, and C lined up, but I am hoping to minimize self-induced stress this year. You can hold me to it :)
The New Year has been pretty full on already. I've moved flats, Heath (Glenda son #3) came to visit, Sam had a bday, I got a full time job at the uni, thus I had to quit one job, and um, oh yea, try find time to sleep! My new flat is more scarfie, and more loveable in my opinion, see pics below. It's so nice to have flatmates around to hang out with. My uni job was a bit unexpected, but I was so estatic when I got the news. Through the temping office at the Uni, I've been contracted to do a full-time administrative assistant position until about April. The position fits perfectly into my travel plans and everything--I'm hoping that it will allow me to meet more people and save up heaps of travel cash so I can do my Australia trip towards the end of April. I'm just floored at how things have just fallen into place for me...I've put forth a lot of effort but I still feel really grateful that such good opportunities have come my way :)
Hoping the New Year is off to a good start for all of you as well! Nearly 4 months and I'll be back in the U S of A!
1. I wish I had this leash for Bailey and Snickers, my old Guinea pigs.
2. Look closely, there is a seal in this picture! Good luck sign for the New Year!
